Monday – Friday: 5-8pm
$2 Lonestar tall boys; $3 wells; $5 cocktails
Not at the moment, maybe later [?]
Eccentrically cool and laid back
With its mirrored-mosaic façade shining brightly off the corner of 12th street and Chicon on Austin’s East Side, Dozen Street is hard to miss. Inside, it’s dimly lit with plenty of open space and places to sit or stand [or dance, because you know you really want to]. You’ll find pool tables in the front [free, btw], music in the back [live and on stage], and a lovely bar sandwiched in between. Cocktails are hand crafted at $5 a pop, and I’m sure you wouldn’t mind a $2 tall boy or $3 well. In the colder months they make a mean spiked cider, warmed in a good ol’ fashioned crockpot [just like grandma does it]. Good deals aside, the best part about Dozen Street is its welcoming vibe. The bartenders feel like quick friends, and there’s even an exceptionally charming resident dog [see cute pic below]. You could be entertained all night by her silly antics [the dog, not the bartender]. You might be tempted to stay inside [I mean, you did just make besties with the bartender after all], but you won’t regret exploring the outdoor patio. In the far back right corner there’s an enchanted little corner that beckons you to sit back, sip, and relax. It might be my new favorite place. For reals.
